Victoria Martin, Special Education, Room 109

Victoria Martin
Special Education, Room 109

Hi! My name is Victoria Martin. This is my first year working at HILA and I am very excited to be apart of such a wonderful team! I am the Kindergarten and First grade transitional teacher, working in room 109. For the past two years I worked as a special education teacher in an early childhood center here in Chicago. I am a Chicago native, but did my undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida. Currently, I am taking classes online to receive my English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement through the University of Illinois.

Also in room 109 there are two paraprofessionals: Beverly Nicholson and Rhonda Mackey. Both women transitioned over from the Hope Institute high school last year. Ms. Nicholson has 30 plus years working in the education and over 25 years with students with special needs. She has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and is currently working on her master’s degree. Ms. Mackey also has many years of experience working with students that have special needs.
