About Us

Hila Opening 199The Hope Institute Learning Academy opened its doors in September of 2009 as part of the CPS, Renaissance 2010 project.  Through a partnership with Victory Schools, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology & the DePaul University School of Education, The Hope Institute for Children and Families created an educational environment designed to help each child reach maximum benefit regardless of learning style, socioeconomic background or level of cognitive ability.

In July of 2009, HILA was chosen as a Pearson Innovation School.  As such, students will have access to the most up-to-date print and digital curriculum from Pearson.  In addition, the company will provide ongoing professional development support – both through hands-on workshops and online – to ensure that HILA teachers are prepared to make the most of the core and supplemental curriculum products they will have in their classrooms.

Originally opening as a K-3 school, HILA will expand classroom offerings to grades K-5 during the 2010-2011 school year.  Eventually, HILA will become a K-12 education provider.

The Hope Institute Learning Academy is more than just a school; we are a community-centered organization.  We support families by sponsoring the HILA Family Educational Resource and Support Center, providing families
with the tools and resources that they need to help their child succeed. In the fall of 2010, HILA will open the Community Health Center @ HILA, providing for the primary health care needs of your student and his/her siblings.
