Mission Statement & Philosophy
The Hope Institute Learning Academy (HILA) is a school like no other. It is built on the concept of Maximum Benefit©. We believe that all children deserve to reach Maximum Benefit© and we are committed to better outcomes for students.
Philosophy
The Hope Institute Learning Academy is grounded in the philosophy that all students deserve to achieve Maximum Benefit©. We are committed to achieving better outcomes for students and aligning our resources to obtain this goal. We believe that by applying our resources more creatively and more strategically, we can create opportunities for agility and an environment that supports data-driven decision making and focus on optimal achievement for all students. We further believe that HILA will serve as a demonstration site for how to best educate students in an inclusive environment through implementation of the Maximum Benefit© model. Through demonstration and achievement of the outcomes and goals we set for HILA, we can change the way that others approach education and we can create an opportunity for others to implement our models, thereby producing better outcomes for all students.
Mission and Vision
The mission of The Hope Institute Learning Academy is to create a learning environment that supports all students to achieve optimally, regardless of socioeconomic background, learning style, or disability. The mission is realized by creating a school that lives up to its vision – helping all students to be successful.
The vision of The Hope Institute Learning Academy is to create a demonstration school within the Chicago Public School system that serves to change the way that children are educated in Chicago. The vision is nothing short of creating a major change in supporting students to achieve – but adopting a model that supports personalization of the educational experience for all students, that engages students in experiencing their curriculum, that utilizes data to make decisions and relies of evidence-based practices, and that is designed from the core to be agile and responsive to student and staff needs – breaking down unnecessary barriers to educational supports, settings, and services that can help all students be successful.
The Hope Institute Learning Academy has a strong emphasis on diversity in learning styles and a specialization in supporting students with autism spectrum disorders in a general education school setting that practices responsible inclusion and supports both staff and students in achieving optimally.
