A “typical” day at HILA
Students can be dropped off at HILA as early as 7:45 am for a Free breakfast- The entire school meets in the morning “Hawk Meeting” in the auditorium, where the students say the pledge of allegiance, the HILA pledge, and students with good behavior are recognized
- Students go to their learning team classrooms at 8:15 am and the academic instructional day begins
- Students learn language arts and mathematics in the morning before lunch
- Students have lunch midday (between 11:30 – 12:30), generally followed by recess or quiet time
- Students have art or music twice per week and PE three times per week
- The afternoon at HILA involves study of science and social studies
- School is dismissed at 4 pm, 3:45 pm for Kindergarten
