Delta Dental presents “Teeth on the Go”

“Teeth on the Go” — a program sponsored by Delta Dental of Illinois, a not-for-profit organization — features the Tooth Wizard and his antagonist, PlaqueMan, interactively teaching the value and practice of brushing, flossing and maintaining good oral health. The characters also discuss good and bad foods for teeth and remind kids why it’s important to visit “their best friend, the dentist” at least twice a year.
During the program, the Tooth Wizard teaches how to rid the mouth of what he calls the “icky, sticky, slimy, grimy, sort of yellowy, greeny gunk” — in other words, plaque — that destroys teeth and causes cavities. At the conclusion, each student receives a goodie-bag containing a toothbrush, floss, toothpaste, and an oral health “how to” sheet in English and Spanish to bring the lesson home.
