Lunch Menu

The Hope Institute Learning Academy offers breakfast and lunch to our students, as well as a nutritious snack for students enrolled in the After School Program. The breakfast program is available to all students, free of charge. It consists of a “Grab and Go” which is eaten in the classroom prior to Morning Meeting. Multiple entrees, including a meatless choice, are offered each day at lunch. All of HILA’s meals are prepared and served under the authority of the Chicago Public Schools’ Nutrition Support Services.

Student lunch tickets are sold by the week only. If your child does not eat the school lunch the entire week, the ticket carries over for the next week, or until all five lunches are eaten. Please send the exact amount in an envelope labeled with your child’s first and last name and grade. Personal checks are not accepted.

Full price lunch $1.85 Weekly ticket $9.25

Reduced price lunch $ .40 Weekly ticket $2.00

Students may bring lunch from home. They may purchase low-fat milk or chocolate milk to drink with their lunch. You may send a beverage to school with your child, but we do not allow pop (Coke, 7-Up, etc). Glass bottles and containers are not permitted in student lunches. We do not have refrigeration space for student lunches brought from home nor do we have the capability of warming up lunches. Containers for keeping food hot or cold can be purchased at many stores. Please label all lunchboxes and accessories with your child’s name.
