Special Announcement

Dear Parents, Families and Friends:

I’m sure you are aware of a potential Chicago Public School Teacher strike, however, HILA’s teachers are NOT in the Chicago
Teachers Union.  HILA will be OPEN and in session if there is a strike.  All students must arrive by 7:45 a.m. each day.  If you have any questions, please contact the HILA Main Office at (773) 534-7405.

In addition, you are strongly encouraged to come to HILA tomorrow from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. to meet your child’s teacher and participate in activities with your children.  Please stop in the HILA Main Office to pick up a Visitor Pass before you visit your child’s classroom.

Last, please mark your calendars for our first Family/Parent Workshop.  The Family/Parent Workshop will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the school auditorium.  The date on the school calendar sent home is incorrect.

We will review our Student/Parent Handbook, present last year’s ISAT data, and discuss the school’s priorities for the 2012/2013 school year.  If you plan on attending our first Parent Workshop, please RSVP by Thursday, September 6, 2012 to Annie McGowan at (773) 534-9431 or email her at amcgowan@thehopeinstitute.us.

Sincerely,

Mr. Jakubowski
